Vasu Legal Celebrates Its First Anniversary

The past 12 months have been an important chapter for Vasu Legal. What started as a vision to build a trusted immigration law firm has developed into a growing business with a strong reputation, an expanding network and an active role within the communities we serve.

Vasu Legal is proud to celebrate its first anniversary, marking one year since an idea and a vision became a reality.

The past 12 months have been an important chapter for Vasu Legal. What started as a vision to build a trusted immigration law firm has developed into a growing business with a strong reputation, an expanding network and an active role within the communities we serve.

Our first year has been shaped by the people who have trusted us with their immigration matters. We are particularly proud to have received 41 five star reviews during our first year, contributing to 141 five star reviews for our Director, Sunil Kumar Mahay, overall.

For us, these reviews represent much more than a number. Behind every review is an individual, a family or a business that has placed their trust in us during an important stage of their life. That trust is something we value greatly and it remains central to how we approach our work.

A Year of Recognition

The first year has also brought significant recognition for Vasu Legal.

During the year, Vasu Legal received three awards, including The Signature Award for Diversity and Inclusion, presented by Dr Sheku Kakay of Scholars School System Alumni.

Vasu Legal was also recognised by the Asian Birmingham Chamber of Commerce as Outstanding Professional Services Business 2025. This was followed by an even greater milestone when Vasu Legal was named the overall Asian Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year 2025.

These awards have been an important recognition of the work we have put into establishing Vasu Legal and the standards we aim to maintain for our clients.

Building Connections Within the Community

From the beginning, we have wanted Vasu Legal to be more than a legal practice. Being part of the community and contributing to the opportunities available to others has been an important part of our journey.

Over the past year, we have supported Handsworth Lions Charity and worked with Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College through Careers Day activities, workshops and panel discussions. We have also supported the University of Birmingham Careers Day and International Yoga Day organised by the Consulate General of India in Birmingham.

Our involvement with the Asian Birmingham Chamber of Commerce has also continued to grow. We have taken part in the Chamber’s Diwali event as a panellist and, in 2026, hosted the Chamber’s Vaisakhi event.

Alongside Vasu Legal’s development, our Director, Sunil Kumar Mahay, was appointed Vice President of the Asian Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, working alongside President Monica Ghai and Co Vice President Daksha Chef D.

The appointment is an important milestone and reflects our wider commitment to engaging with the business community, supporting professional networks and contributing to the growth of businesses and individuals across the region.

Looking Ahead

Looking back over the past year, it is remarkable to consider how far Vasu Legal has come.

Twelve months ago, Vasu Legal was an idea. Today, it is an established immigration law firm with clients, professional relationships, community connections and a growing reputation.

The first year has been about building the foundations properly, learning, meeting people, developing relationships and putting our vision into practice.

As we enter our second year, our focus remains the same: providing high quality immigration legal services, maintaining the trust of our clients and continuing to build Vasu Legal for the long term.

We would like to thank everyone who has trusted us, supported us, recommended us, worked with us and been part of our journey during our first year.

One year completed. The next chapter begins.
